Men of Hope

All men are invited to participate in the Men of Hope for fun, fellowship, and inspiration, and service.

Did you know that every man at Hope already belongs to the Men of Hope? We average 36 men at our casual monthly breakfast meetings, and we’d like to have you attend the next meeting on the first Saturday of the month at 8:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Sean Luhr or Scott Sabrsula to RSVP.

Our theme this year is “Living a Reformed Life”. The Men of Hope can always be counted on to support the various congregation and service outreach programs sponsored by Hope Presbyterian Church. We recently aligned our monthly breakfast meetings to end just as Operation Interdependence begins. Men are encouraged to stay an extra hour after breakfast to help support the troops deployed overseas. This year we also plan to provide scholarships to support the youth who will attend an out-of-state mission trip.

Some of the many areas where the Men of Hope are serving others through Christ:

  • Hands on Hope
  • Interfaith Hospitality Network
  • Men's Leadership Worship Sunday
  • Breakfast with Santa
  • Presbyterian Children Home
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • R R Express Hope Family Night
  • Mother’s Day Carnations
  • Operation Interdependence
  • Mexico Mission Trip
  • Ash Wednesday Pancake Supper
  • Hope Spokes

As you can see, there is a place for everyone at Men of Hope. Please contact MOH Moderator, Scott Sabrsula, or Mike Blank, to find out how you can apply your time and talents. The MOH Motto is, "Little is much if God is in it." Come, experience what "it" is.

Men of Hope, where all men are welcome anytime!

Service Opportunities

  1. Hands on Hope: Volunteers are needed to help some of our fellow Hope members with light handy work. Contact Homer Goering if you can lend a hand.
  2. Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN): volunteers are needed to assist temporarily displaced families. To learn how you can help your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, contact John Hoffner.
  3. Habitat for Humanity: Offering a hand-up instead of a hand-out is behind Habitat for Humanity. No experience is needed, but you do need to complete a simple on-line registration process to participate. Contact Homer Goering.
  4. Men’s Leadership Worship Sunday: Have you ever wondered what the sanctuary looks like while singing in the choir? Or, how do the ushers know which way to turn during the offertory? These and many other probing questions are answered during the annual men’s worship service. What a great way to get involved at Hope. There are many positions available, and yes, only men can apply! Contact Scott Sabrsula.
  5. Hope for the Holidays: Last year's event was the best ever. Our new facilities enabled us to do more than ever before. Men of Hope look forward to having even more "manly" crafts available this year. Proceeds benefit area charities.
  6. Hope Spokes: Open to the whole family, the group aims to have fun, promote safety, and possibly participate in area biking events to benefit charities. No experience is required. Contact Mark Butterfield for more information.
